In the Southsea, Portsmouth, United Kingdom, there has a rose garden. It is very amazing with lots of roses in various colors such as pink, yellow, white, red and purple. I went there on nearly October, 2012 before going back Vietnam. I was interested even at that time; it was not the most wonderful season to enjoy the environment fulfilled with smell of roses.
Roses grow mostly in Asia and alternative number of this flower in Europe, South America and West Africa. They grow as a group with many flowers. However, in my photos, I only focused on particular one because with macro technique, the beauty of roses might be appeared on picture.
In this post, I do not want to concentrate on appearance or specific characteristic of rose because it is easy to be found on the Internet. I want to mention rose garden in the UK. When I went back Vietnam on June, my boyfriend cycled to that garden and took several photos. I was amazed and interested as I love taking photos of flowers, leaves, buds and small things so much.
Three months after, before winter in Portsmouth was coming, I went to rose garden. That was sunny day. I have to mention the weather whenever I go out and take photos in the UK. The reason is England is foggy land and most of time it is covered by grey sky and fog. Nevertheless, light is one of the most important elements which affect the most on taking photos.
On October, most of rose trees in garden were bare. There were only few flowers which still existed on dead branches. It was not difficult to feel the environment of good smell and imagined that it was a wonderful land with various colors of flowers. Notwithstanding, it was quite hard to find the best one to take photos lively.
Although that was not rose reason, there were lots of dead bunches, there still had rose bud that could be bloomed in good weather condition. I captured a picture of bud which was impressive, I thought. It was a dead branch, but it still had bud. That bud connected with branch slightly. Perhaps it would be fall down under small pressure. I wondered whether it could be grow up or die soon.
Besides, there were more buds in pink and yellow. They hided among many dead bunches. I could not move in nearby them and had to use tele lens instead of macro and wide one. I have a friend who likes my rose photos. She said that the picture of bud below illustrates the youth. Following this, youth can develop with encouragement of family and close relationship. All blur behind is society which cannot be affected so much on improvement of youth.
My interest of taking macro photos, especially of flowers, might be unlimited. I hope I can keep this enthusiasm to see the beauty of the smallest things. Actually, I have never ever been to an impressive flower garden like this. And this is always sweet memory during the time I was in the UK.
